abundant life logo

Welcome. Below you will find details on what our preschoolers learned at church for this date. In case you are not able to bring your child to one of our campus locations, this is written for you to do church at home with your kids. This can also be used for those that are able to attend in person to recap what your kids learned or to just listen to their favorite songs that they hear at church. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Here is a snapshot of what we will show the kids this week:
Bible Story Focus: On day six, God made animals and people. (Animals & People • Genesis 1:24-31)
Memory Verse: “God saw everything he had made. And it was very good.” Genesis 1:31, NIrV
Key Question: Who made everything?
Bottom Line: God made everything.

Bible Story and Worship
Watch the Bible Story Video with your kids so you can recap and discuss it with them in the “Bring Jesus To Their Level” section. Then join your kids in worship as we sing and dance for God.

Activities
Next, use the Memory Verse video to practice our monthly verse. This is our last week to practice the memory verse. Be sure to think of a fun reward like a sticker or special snack you can give them next week when they are able to say it all by themselves. The activity sheet and coloring page are fun resources to help reinforce story and/or big idea.

Bring Jesus To Their Level
Follow the following script to recap the story, practice the memory verse and demonstrate to your young children how to pray. (You’ll make a list with your family to pray over so have a pen a paper ready.)

Say: “Today in our Bible story, we learned that God made animals and people! Not only did God make our favorite animals, but He made you and me and every person in the world! God really did make everything! Who made everything? (Together.) [Bottom Line] God made everything!

“He sure did! And the Bible verse we are learning says . . . ‘God (point up) saw everything he had made, (binocular hands, look around) and it was very good,’ (thumbs-up) Genesis 1:31. (Open hands like a book.) (Practice this verse several times with your kids.)

“Yay! You did a great job of saying that Bible verse and doing the motions! (Give two thumbs-up.)

“Today, we’re going to make a list of some of the animals God made. Then when we pray, we can thank God for making all the animals. (Have each family member pick their favorite animal. Don’t forget to list one yourself.)

“These are some great animals. It’s time to pray. Would anyone like to pray before I pray?”(Give each family member who wants to pray the opportunity to do so.)

Prayer: “Dear God, You made the whole world and everything in it. Thank You for making so many wonderful animals like the (name the animals your family listed). And most of all, thank You for making people. Thank You for making (name each family member). They are all so wonderful, and I am so glad each of them are in my life. You are the best, God, and we love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

As we wrap up, I would like to leave you with one of the kids’ favorite ‘good-bye’ songs:
Let Me See Your Alligator

Thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in the discipleship of your kid(s). My prayers are with you.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

Psalm 139:14
