Elementary, May 17th: Paul is arrested

Hi Journey Kids parents!

People love a good story! And if you’re a follower of Jesus, then YOU have a good story to tell. During this week’s family lesson, we’re going to hear about Paul’s arrest for preaching the good news. But not even jail could stop Paul from telling his story. There’s a lot we can learn from Paul!

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. It’s designed to be both fun and interactive. (You can access the YouTube playlist here.) The video will prompt you to answer a question with your family. It’s a great way to engage spiritually with one another. Afterwards, there are two great worship videos from Yancy to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Paul is Arrested (Acts 21-28)

Big Idea: The good news of Jesus sets us free from sin, so we can tell our story to others.

Memory Verse: “Let those who have been set free by the Lord tell their story. He set them free from the power of the enemy.” Psalm 107:2 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Finally, I want to leave you with this blessing from 2 Thessalonians 3:16, “May the Lord who gives peace give you peace at all times and in every way. May the Lord be with all of you.”
