Special Needs

We feel that it is important to engage children and adults with special needs in a setting that is conducive to them and their needs.

We offer special needs classes, called Precious Stones, at both Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs Campuses. Here, trained volunteers lovingly serve the children and adults to help them learn about Jesus on their level. If you are interested in serving with Precious Stones, see the Journey Kids Volunteer Application on the serve teams page.

At our Lee’s Summit Campus, there are two separate opportunities for adults and children. Children (up to age 12) meet at 9:35 am and 11:15 am. Teens and adults (age 12+) only class meets at 11:15 am. There is also a Parent Support Group that meets every 3rd Sunday at the 9:35 am service in the children's wing.

At our Blue Springs Campus, the Precious Stones classroom will be open during the 11:15 am service for both children and adults. Check-in at the Guest Services Trailer on the children’s wing side for both the children and adult classes.

To better prepare for your arrival, please contact Quincey Nicholas at (816) 554-8181 with any questions or just to let her know you are coming.

Virtual Respite Event
Saturday, September 12 • 5:30 pm

Families with children, teens, or adults with special needs often find it difficult or challenging to step away and recharge.

To meet this need during the pandemic, we are offering virtual respite night! This is a family event to provide an evening of crafts and fun activities. Virtual Respite can be done live or at any time after the event.
