Reaching the world one life at a time.

Come be living proof to a watching world as we reach our neighbors across the city and around the world.

Live Sent Week

We're reaching the nations in our neighborhoods!

Live Sent Week is a special week at Abundant Life where we, as a church, go out into the Kansas City area to meet our neighbors and reach the nations at the same time.

Kansas City is blessed to be called a new home by thousands of people from all over the world, many of them never having a chance to hear about Christ or be friends with a Christian.

Live Sent Week is November 6-12. Registration will open soon!

Refugee and Immigrant Children

The Welcome Center is Kansas City Public School’s entry school for incoming ESL students, many of who are immigrants and refugees. Children entering classes at The Welcome Center are in K-6th grade and represent a variety of cultures and languages.

Assistants will be immersed with students in the classroom, working in small groups, one-on-one, or helping teachers in large settings with education and behavior concepts and meeting needs, including classroom organization, set-up, clean-up, and serving meals. And of course, a big goal will be to have fun during the summer session!

International Students

Kansas City hosts approximately 2000 international students. The majority come from China, India, and Saudi Arabia. Approximately 40 countries are represented in the international student community. Although there are many campus ministries and churches that focus on this group, the international students are still underserved

One of the LiveSent events we will host is a house party close to the UMKC campus. This provides a way for our volunteers to introduce American culture, learn about different cultures the international students represent and build long-term relationships with international students by inviting them to an American household. While more than 95% of international students never have a chance to visit American homes, we believe this is an area we can make an impact on.

Afghan Community

Kansas City has recently become a new home to over 600 Afghan families. Resettling here is a stressful and painful process. Many have left family members behind as they fled their homeland. Their lives are forever changed. Imagine the drastic change and challenges they face daily. Finding work, learning a new language, learning to drive, and a myriad of other obstacles they face are great points to intersect our lives with theirs. Refuge KC is a strategic partner in building relational bridges where we can show the gracefulness of Christ through serving the unreached here in our city.

Congolese Refugees

Abundant Life is partnering with Agape Pamoja and members of the Congolese faith community to put on a Gospel-Driven Kidfest full of games, fun, interactive Bible stories, and a real cross-cultural community. This relationship-building time is key to doing ministry in this highly relational culture. Our call to love the stranger is shown here by investing in children who lack opportunities and benefit greatly by hearing about Jesus who unconditionally loves them. Our team will also provide transportation before and after the event for children in the community.

Hispanic/Latin Community

Hablas Espanol? Even if you don’t, you should join Abundant Life as we partner with the Latin community here in Kansas City. Spanish is the second most spoken language in KC. The Latin community in Kansas City comes from several nations and has often experienced many difficulties immigrating to the area. One of the heartbeats of Latin culture is the game of soccer, which is why we are partnering with a local inner-city club called Santa Fe Wonderers. They are committed not only to the physical training of the inner-city youth but also spiritual.

Indian Community

Perhaps the warmest culture you will ever meet is the Indian culture, full of life, fun, and of course, food. Join us as we build relationships with the Indian community here in Kansas City. Did you know every month, hundreds of people to the States from India for work or school but very few get to know others. Would you consider being one of their first friends here in Kansas City? We have several strategic partnerships with local Indian families who are sharing the truth of Christ to the Indian culture here. This culture predominantly follows the Hindu religion, which has some 3 billion gods. If you love people and friendships, then this may be the people group for you.

Inner City Youth

Abundant Life will be partnering with Hope Center to have an end-of-school-year celebration for the children and for those in the community who have been ministered to by the Hope Center, as they live their vision to develop healthy communities where the vulnerable can have hope and flourish.

Global Serve Teams

Through our Global Serve Teams, we are able to execute strategies that actively engage Abundant Life families to reach the nations. Each year we see hundreds of lives changed by Jesus as we cross cultural boundaries to share Christ with those far from Him.
