Have you ever been cooking and used the wrong measuring spoon to add the salt? You just added a tablespoon when it only needed a teaspoon. If you are lucky, you catch it before mixing it all in so you can try to pull some of it out. But once it is mixed in, there is no way separate it from the rest of the ingredients. God’s love is the same (though there is no mixing required). He just loves us.

Whether we are happy or angry, reading our Bible daily or allowing it to collect dust, helping orphans in Romania or getting a pedicure, God loves us no matter what. Of course, He wants us to make good choices so we can live an abundant life. But even when we mess up, His love is unwavering. No matter where we are or what we are doing, nothing can separate us from the love of our Heavenly Father.

Here is a snapshot of what we will show the kids this week:
Bible Story Focus: I can trust God. (Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love • Romans 8:38-39)
Memory Verse: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5, NIV
Key Question: Who can trust God?
Bottom Line: I can trust God.

Bible Story & Worship
Watch the Bible Story Video with your kids so you can recap and discuss it with them in the “Bring Jesus To Their Level” section. Then join your kids in worship as we sing and dance for God.

Activities
Next, use the Memory Verse video to practice our monthly verse. We have practiced this verse all month long. If you can, have a fun reward you can give them when they are able to say it all by themselves during our “Bring Jesus To Their Level” section. The activity sheet and coloring page are fun resources to help reinforce story and/or big idea.

Bring Jesus To Their Level
Finish up your church at home by recapping the story and practicing the memory again. Then say: “Today’s Bible story was about how nothing will ever separate us from God’s love. God loves us THAT much! And that’s why we can trust God with all our heart, just like the verse we’re learning. It says . . . ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart,’ Proverbs 3:5. (Practice verse together and then see if each of your kids can say it all by themselves).

“Today, I’ll write down all of our names. When I call your name, you’ll draw a heart by your name, and say, ‘God loves me.’ (Help younger kids in drawing a heart if they are unable). Get ready and listen for your name! (Have each family member draw a heart and say, ‘God loves me.’ Be sure to include yourself).

“I hope we always trust God and remember that nothing will ever separate us from His amazing love. Okay, it’s time to pray. Would anyone like to pray before I pray?” (Give your kid(s) an opportunity to pray if they want to).

PRAYER: “Dear God, thank You for Your amazing love. Your love is bigger than anything we will ever do and any place we will ever go. Nothing will ever separate us from Your love! Thank You for loving (name each family member). I pray we will always trust You and believe in how much You love us. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

As we wrap up, I would like to leave you with one of the kids’ favorite ‘good-bye’ songs:
Let Me See Your Alligator

Thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in the discipleship of your kid(s). My prayers are with you.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
