Hi Journey Kids parents!

God asked a lot of hard things of Abraham. First, He asked Abraham to leave everything he knew and follow Him. Then God asked him to sacrifice Isaac – Abraham’s only son. Now, God never intended Abraham to sacrifice his son. But God was testing Abraham’s trust. Abraham passed with flying colors – and God provided a substitute for Isaac.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: God Provides a Sacrifice: Isaac

Big Idea: God is trustworthy, so I can follow Him anywhere.

Memory Verse: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. In all your ways remember him. Then he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

God often asks hard things of us. I don’t know what He’s asking of you. But I do know that He is trustworthy and He is worth following.
