Elementary, September 26: Moses – The Early Years

Hi Journey Kids parents!

Moses was born under a death sentence. Pharoah had ordered that all the boys two and under be thrown into the Nile. Moses’ parents hid him as long as they could, but it became too dangerous – for them and their son. So, they put Moses in a basket, set him in the Nile, and entrusted him entirely to God. God protected Moses and, as we’ll see in the weeks to come, had big plans for this little baby.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Moses: The Early Years

Big Idea: God is our protector, so I don’t need to be afraid.

Memory Verse: “I am the Lord your God. I take hold of your right hand. I say to you, ‘Do not be afraid.’” Isaiah 41:13 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

God is still our protector. Even when we can’t see what He’s doing, even when we can’t imagine how He is going to come through, we don’t need to be afraid. I am praying that you would experience His love and care for you this week.
