Hi Journey Kids parents!

The Israelites had every reason to be afraid when they were attacked by an alliance of five armies. But their leader, Joshua, encouraged them not to be afraid and have faith in God’s protection. Joshua prayed that God would make the sun stand still so they could defeat their enemies – and He did it.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. (You can access the YouTube playlist here.) It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family. And don’t forget to participate afterwards in the worship video from Crosskid Nation.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Sun Stands Still

Big Idea: God has power over all things, so we can battle our fear with faith.

Memory Verse: “I looked to the Lord, and he answered me. He saved me from everything I was afraid of.” Psalm 34:4 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

We worship the same God that stopped the sun in response to Joshua’s faith. Do you realize how incredible that is? Let’s put our faith in the same God Joshua did. That’s our God and He can still do the incredible.
