Hi Journey Kids parents!
Moses spent forty years living in Egypt before escaping to the desert when the Pharaoh wanted him dead. He spent another forty years tending sheep. Moses probably thought that’s how he’d live out his days – but God had other plans. He appeared to Moses in a burning bush and told him to go back to Egypt and lead Israel out of slavery. Moses, was understandably, terrified at the prospect. But God promised Moses that he wouldn’t be alone. God would be with him.
When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.
Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:
Bible Story: Moses: The Burning Bush
Big Idea: God is always with me, so I can have the courage to do what He asks.
Memory Verse: “Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be terrified. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIrV)
After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:
God promises to never leave us or forsake us. He promises to be with us always. So, no matter what He asks us to do, we can be confident that He is there through it all. I don’t know what you’re facing this week, but I do know that you are not alone. You never are.
