Hi Journey Kids parents!
The people of Israel were slaved in Egypt for four hundred years. They cried out to God and begged Him to rescue them. God heard their cry and chose a man named Moses to lead them out of their bondage. But the Pharaoh wasn’t all that keen to let his labor force go, so God unleashed a series of ten devastating plagues upon the Egyptians. He gave Pharaoh ten chances to repent – to change his mind. Pharaoh refused and, in the end, God proved Himself to be more powerful than Pharaoh or any of the false gods in Egypt.
When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.
Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:
Bible Story: Moses: The Plagues
Big Idea: God is all-powerful, so I can go to Him for help.
Memory Verse: “Lord and King, you have reached out your great and powerful arm. You have made the heavens and the earthy. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17 (NIrV)
After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:
The people of Israel cried out to God for help and God came through in powerful way. I don’t know where you need God’s power right now. What I do know is that He hears you when you come to Him for help. Go to Him. He’s listening.
