Hi Journey Kids parents!

“You can do that when you’re older.” How often did you hear that growing up? All the time, right? Children often feel there’s more they CAN’T do than they CAN do. But age has never stopped God. He can and does do big things through young people. This weekend we’re looking at one such young man – Timothy – and the encouragement he received from Paul to set an example for others in the way he lived.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Timothy is Chosen

Big Idea: God can do BIG things through you even though you’re young.

Memory Verse: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

I hope this week you’ll take time to encourage – and even challenge – your children to set an example for others in the way they live. They need to know that they don’t have to wait until they’re older to make a difference. God can do BIG things through them right now.
