Hi Journey Kids parents!

Can you imagine what the church would be like if we were all gifted the same way? Think about it. What if everyone was gifted to teach but no one was gifted to cook dinner for the family facing a cancer diagnosis? What if everyone was gifted to lead but no one was gifted musically? The reality is the church needs every gift to serve fully – the way Jesus wants His church to serve. If you are a follower of Jesus, you have been given a gift or ability that enables you to serve. And if your children follow Jesus, so have they!

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Spiritual Gifts

Big Idea: The Holy Spirit gives us a spiritual gift, so we can help others grow close to God.

Memory Verse: “Each of you has received a gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully.” 1 Peter 4:10b (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

It’s really easy to think we don’t have anything to offer – or to wish we had the gifts given to another. But the church – and the world – needs what you have to give. There is no one like you. Don’t deprive the world of what God has given you to offer.
