Hi Journey Kids parents!
God appeared to a young man named Solomon in a dream and offered to give him whatever he wanted. Solomon had just become the king of Israel and knew he was out of his depth. So, he asked God for wisdom. God wants us to desire wisdom that way, too. It’s so much more valuable than money or power or fame – all of which will fade away. The incredible news, though, is that God offers to give us all of the wisdom we need if only we’ll ask.
When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.
Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:
Bible Story: The Book of Proverbs: Seeking Wisdom
Big Idea: God is the source of all understanding, so we can go to Him for wisdom.
Memory Verse: “It is so much better to get wisdom than gold. It is much better to choose understanding than silver.” Proverbs 16:16 (NIrV)
After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:
Where do you need wisdom right now? What decisions or conversations are before you? You have a God that is ready and willing to give you all of the insight and understanding that you need.
