Elementary, July 12: Treat Everyone the Same - Abundant Life Skip to content

Hi Journey Kids parents!

The Bible says in James
2:1, “My brothers and sisters, you
are believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. So treat everyone the same.”
(NIRV) It’s such a simple command, but our sin makes it so hard to follow. The
temptation is to treat people differently based on what they look or sound
like. That’s what we’re going to tackle in this week’s family lesson.

When it’s time to begin, start
your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your
kids. (You can access the YouTube playlist
here.
) It’s a great
way to engage spiritually with your family. And don’t forget to participate in
the worship videos from Yancy afterwards—one song is for older kids and one is
for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the
lesson details for this week:

Bible
Story:
Treat Everyone
the Same (James 2:1-13)

Big
Idea:
God calls us to
treat everyone the same.

Memory
Verse:
“My brothers and sisters, you are believers
in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. So treat everyone the same.” James
2:1 (NIrV)

After
the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take
your family deeper into the lesson:

I want to leave you with the words from 2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is
able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all
that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (NIV) I hope and pray that
God’s blessings help you abound in every good work this week!
