Hi Journey Kids parents!

Jesus wasn’t too popular with the Pharisees. Jesus obeyed the law of God, but He refused to follow the rules and regulations the Pharisees had made. But there was one Pharisee who was curious about Jesus. He thought that maybe – just maybe – Jesus was who He claimed to be. So, one night, under the cover of darkness, he snuck out to meet with Jesus. Nicodemus – like the other Pharisees – believed they were going to Heaven because they were obedient to God, but Jesus set him straight. Only those who have received the grace of God and have been born again will get to be with Him in Heaven.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Jesus and Nicodemus

Big Idea: Heaven is for those who become born again followers of Jesus.

Memory Verse: “Jesus replied, ‘What I’m about to tell you is true. No one can see God’s kingdom unless they are born again.’” John 3:3 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Nicodemus had a decision to make. He could keep on trying to earn his salvation or he could trust Jesus. He could accept the grace of God and begin a brand-new life. We have the same decision to make. To rely on ourselves or to rely on Him. Let’s rely on Him.
