Hi Journey Kids parents!

Jesus was at the home of a Pharisee named Simon. While they were eating dinner, a woman with a not-so-great reputation burst into the room and ran to Jesus. She knelt before Him, kissed his feet, and poured oil on them. Simon couldn’t believe Jesus would allow such a woman to touch Him. But Jesus came to her defense. He told a parable that showed them that her gratitude was in response to all that she’d been forgiven.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. [You can access the videos here.] It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Jesus and Simon the Pharisee

Big Idea: God’s forgiveness is as big as the ocean, so we can bring Him our Mt. Everest of mess-ups.

Memory Verse: “You will completely wipe out the evil things we’ve done. You will throw all our sins into the bottom of the sea.” Micah 7:19 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

This woman was so overwhelmed by gratitude for all that God had done for her that she couldn’t wait to find Jesus. Isn’t it incredible to think of all that God has done for us? Let’s take time this week to thank Him for His incredible and totally undeserved grace.
